Good agents.Greater together.
Chio is a Rust kernel for agentic operating systems. Build agent swarms, connect your services, and let independent systems work together.
Your agents. Your tools. Shared possibilities.
Built on the Chio kernel.
THE AGENTIC WEB
The internet,
working together.
Chio is the kernel.
Your agents are just the beginning.
One goal.
Many minds.
Bring specialists together. Let every agent build a team of its own.
Build a swarmOne application assigns parts of a shared question to independent agents and combines their results. Any specialist can coordinate a team of its own. Chio bounds the operations each participant can perform.
Bring your stack.
Connect your agents, tools, and services to the Chio kernel.

The host tests the candidate against the supplied harness. The candidate cannot rewrite its acceptance tests.

NATIVE AGENTS / FROM THE WALKTHROUGH
Research
Source + test harness
Inspect the source and reproduce the failures caused by empty windows and integer overflow.
Implementation
Candidate source + tests
Retain both candidates. The host tests each repair against the original harness; workers cannot change its tests.
Review
Review + owner decision
Evaluate the selected repair and its test results. Publication requires the owner’s decision.
The native walkthrough uses Hermes for research, Codex for implementation, and Pi for review. Choose agents by role in the local console.
SOFTWARE FACTORY / MEGASTART
A workspace
of your own.
Megastart is the complete software factory: the host, agent connections, sample project, and your local console.
Download the factory Read the complete guideUse your supported native agent account.
Requires Git, a C toolchain, and Rust 1.94.1. Native sessions also need Node.js 22.19+ and npm. Prepare your machine →
curl -fL https://chio.computer/examples/megastart.zip -o megastart.zip
unzip megastart.zip
cd megastart
cargo install --locked --features native-agents --path .
megastartThe project is called megastart in the docs and terminal. Launch it to open your local console, choose a project, and start a mission.

- Choose a project
- Start a mission
- Inspect the result
Browser console included.

YOUR FIRST CHANGE
Make it yours.
Add a test, change an agent, or adapt the system to your project.
Add one more test.
Give the mission another condition to satisfy. See the harness go from five tests to six.
Choose your agents.
Use one supported runtime for every role, or mix Claude Code, Hermes, Codex, and Pi.
Configure native agentsUse your own project.
Start with a compatible Rust module and tests. Other workloads need their own host adapters.
Read the adaptation guideThe result is recorded.
Your next mission can be yours.
