Build from source

Bring Chio’s project tools into Cursor.

Before you start

Cursor with its cursor command on PATH, Node.js 22+ and Git. Use a separate profile for this integration candidate.

  1. Build the extension

    Terminal · a new directory
    git clone https://github.com/backbay-labs/chio-cursor-plugin.git
cd chio-cursor-plugin
npm ci --ignore-scripts --no-audit --no-fund
npm run package

  2. Install into a dedicated profile

    Terminal · chio-cursor-plugin
    cursor --user-data-dir "$PWD/.cursor-data" \
  --extensions-dir "$PWD/.cursor-extensions" \
  --install-extension ./artifacts/chio-cursor-0.3.0.vsix

  3. Open that profile

    Terminal · chio-cursor-plugin
    cursor --user-data-dir "$PWD/.cursor-data" \
  --extensions-dir "$PWD/.cursor-extensions" .
    Expected checkpoint

    The Command Palette includes “Chio: Initialize workspace”.

    This checks extension discovery. Configure the project bond and runtime before starting a mediated task.
